Chuck just posted a frightening quote from George Monbiot's Manifesto for a New World Order:

Periodically my web host sends out emails like this one, which just arrived:

That's pretty much all there is to it! Everybody now gets 60% more disk space and bandwidth! You don't have to do anything to get it...

Next month marks my one-year anniversary as an Audible.com subscriber. I know this because last week I received a Happy Audible Anniversary email from them, including a credit for a free book (!). Initially, I subscribed because I wanted to make better use of my commute to and from work. What I've found though, is that the books are usually so outstanding that I look forward to hopping in the car! (This brings me down though, but that's a topic for another day...)
Here's what I've heard so far (all in Unabridged format, newest to oldest):
The excellent Phluzein reports on trouble in Turkey, due to its government not sufficiently capitalizing on the Hollywood blockbuster that takes place there:

Two years, seven months, three continents and 890 posts later, this blog is switching back to Blogger from MovableType. No, this has nothing to do the $ snafu; I just figured that a) Blogger is kicking ass again and b) I've worked on the Blogger Team at Google for over a year now, so why not?
I'm also really excited to be part of a community that's barely begun to [formally] take its first steps.
