Meditation

Lots of folks have linked this already, but I wanted to highlight these quotes:
"The study also indicates that regular meditation may slow age-related thinning of the frontal cortex."
and
"The study participants were people with jobs and families. They just meditated on average 40 minutes each day, you don't have to be a monk."

  2. Hmmm, sounds good. But it would be interesting to see statistics comparing the growth of the cerebral cortex (or whatever) of those who had meditated vs. those who had relaxed for an equivalent amount of time vs. people who did nothing different. For normal "people with jobs and families", I suspect forty minutes of relaxation a day would have a similarly healthy effect - meditation or not!
